Why teams switch from Qualtrics

Qualtrics is powerful, but its cost and complexity are overkill for many South African teams and researchers. Surveyz gives you the survey features you actually use — at a price that makes sense in rand.

Affordable, transparent pricing

Plans priced for South African budgets — no opaque annual enterprise contracts or seat-based surprises.

POPIA & SA hosting

Hosted in Azure South Africa North with POPIA-aware defaults — ideal for local research ethics and data-residency requirements.

Researcher-friendly exports

Export clean data to CSV, XLSX or SPSS (.sav) with a stable codebook — ready for your analysis.

No lock-in

Your data is yours. Export it any time and switch away if you ever need to — we don't hold it hostage.

How to bring your Qualtrics surveys across

Qualtrics supports a direct file import via its native .qsf format, so migration is quick.

  1. In Qualtrics, open your survey, go to Tools → Import/Export → Export Survey and download the .qsf file.
  2. Create a free Surveyz account (or sign in) and open the import wizard from your dashboard.
  3. Choose Qualtrics as the source and upload your .qsf file. Surveyz parses your questions and options automatically.
  4. Review the mapping, adjust any question types or wording, then create your draft survey — ready to re-brand and publish.

Honest note: the import brings across your survey structure — questions, options and types. Your existing Qualtrics responses stay in Qualtrics (export them there for your records). Importing is free on every Surveyz plan.

FAQ

Will my historical Qualtrics responses come across?

No — only your survey structure imports. Past responses stay in Qualtrics and should be exported there for your records. Responses are bound to where they were collected.

Is this POPIA compliant?

Yes. Surveyz is hosted in South Africa and built with POPIA in mind. You import question structure, not respondents' personal information. See our POPIA Compliance page.

Does importing cost anything?

No. Import is free on every plan, including the free tier.

Can I export my data to SPSS for analysis?

Yes. Surveyz supports SPSS .sav export with a stable per-option codebook — built for academic researchers moving across from Qualtrics.
